If you like to write by hand, it is no shame to use a classic notebook. (Photo by The Climate Reality Project on Unsplash)

We have all been searching for the ideal way to store our thoughts, notes, plans and ideas. Some of us use the old classic notebook like a Moleskine and some use their phones, tablets or computers to store them in a safe and digital way. This is why in the last 20 years there was a lot going on in the note taking market. The most popular and frequently used tools are probably Evernote, Microsoft OneNote, Google Keep or Apple Notes. I think they are all great and I used them all. Sometimes at the same time.

They are all great tools with a huge feature set. You can sign in to them, share all your notes across different devices, have several notebooks. They are sometimes even fantastic with parsing your documents. And all of them are made for professionals. But this means you have to put a lot of effort into them, to keep them clean and to develop your own system to store your notes. It is necessary to invest time. Personally, i don’t like to spend time in understanding and organising software tools. I know this sounds lazy, but they should always be self-explanatory and make recommendations if I do something the wrong way. This is why i am starting to love the Bear Writer app.

The app has an unbelievable clean interface. All the information you need is always just some clicks ways. You organize your notes not in tags and sub tags, all notes can have as many tags as you want. And you can place them wherever you want, not necessary in the head part of your not. You can also link notes in other notes. And the list of your tags has some beautiful icons. And that’s all there is you have to organize. It is really fast and something you don’t have to care about.

There is no signup needed, because Bear stores all your notes on the iCloud. But syncing is only available with the Pro Version, which only costs 14.99$ per year (or 1.49$ per month). All you have to do is just download the app on all your devices and they start to sync when you use the same iCloud user on all devices. If you want to backup your data you can just export them in several ways.

I am using Bear for more than 2 months now and I realized how much more notes I am taking and how organized they all seem to be, while investing no extra time in organizing my notes. It’s a great feeling and you should probably ty it.
